⠀The Tudor Monarchs (1485-1603)
The Beginning of the Tudor Dynasty
King Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
It all starts with the downfall of the York line, when King Edward V falls fatally ill. Henry Tudor, the main rival to the throne of England took this opportunity to take the crown by conquest, becoming King Henry VII. Though his claims to the throne are legitimate, the York line had many supporters among the people, and to subdue any protests, King Henry VII marries Edward's daughter, Elizabeth of York to solidify his place as the King of England.

Three Catherines, Two Annes, One Jane
King Henry VIII and his Six Wives
The infamous King Henry VIII, second son of King Henry VII and Queen Elizabeth of York, inspired the musical Six, and movies starring A-list stars Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. His reign has many people around the world captivated by the scandalous stories around his six wives and the break away from the Catholic Church to establish his own church.
To think he caused public outrage in this decision just so he could 'legally' divorce his wife Catherine of Aragon to marry the cunning and coy, Anne Boleyn.
Since Anne Boleyn, and his newfound ability to divorce, he's wed four other women: Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Kathryn Howard, Catherine Parr, and sired three future monarchs.

The Boy King
King Edward VI
A single male heir, son of King Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour, was born weak. He's been dubbed The Boy King as his reign began at just 10 years old. As one can imagine, King Edward VI was only the face of his reign, as political figures ruled through him, though that didn't make his reign any less dull. However, King Edward VI was only on the throne for a mere 6 years before he died at the age of 15 due to one of his sickly diseases.

Sister Rivals and the End of the Tudor dynasty
Queen Mary I and Queen Elizabeth I
Of course, when you create your own Church and marry seven women, determining who is next in line for the English throne could be... complicated to say the least. Queen Mary I, daughter of King Henry VIII and his first wife, Catherine of Aragon and Queen Elizabeth I, daughter of King Henry VIII and his second wife, the short-lived Anne Boleyn had different visions when they ascended to the throne. Not much else we can say but: drama ensues.
