Poems By Robert Browning, is a collection of poetry written by the English poet Robert Browning. Browning's poetry, with its flamboyant characters and dramatic situations, lends itself to illustration by a sympathetic artist, and this volume is the product of just such a commission. Originally issued as one of the first titles in the Endymion series of illustrated poets in 1897, it was the work of a 25-year-old artist, Byam Shaw. Byam Shaw's combination of fanciful detail with strong portraiture was ideally suited to the subject, and the result is undoubtedly an 'illustrated' rather than 'decorated' book. Published by Bell & Hyman.
