My Dear Miss Macarthur - Recollections of Emmeline Macarthur 1828-1911

Author(s): Jane Saffins

Secondhand Non-fiction | Secondhand Australian History

There were two branches of the Macarthur family in Australia. The first branch was known as the Camden Park Branch and the second was known as the Vineyard Branch. The Vineyard Branch was founded by James Macarthur (1741-1824) and his wife, Catherine Hawkins (1757-1824). Emmeline Macarthur (1828-1911) was born in The Vineyard, Australia and spent her childhood there. She later traveled to Europe and in 1848 she married George Leslie (1820-1860), also of Australia. The Leslie brothers were Australian pioneers and very influential in their day.

Very good hardcover secondhand book.
