This is the second volume of the Loeb Classical Library edition of PhilostratusÕs third-century work, Life of Apollonius of Tyana, translated by F. C. Conybeare. It contains the last four books of the biography of Apollonius of Tyana, as well as his epistles and a treatise by Eusebius that criticizes PhilostratusÕs account. The book continues to narrate ApolloniusÕs adventures, wisdom, and supernatural feats in various lands, such as India, Babylon, Egypt, and Greece. The book also deals with his death and apotheosis. The volume was published by Heinemann and Harvard University Press in 1960 and has 608 pages. Additional remarks: Yellowed endpapers.
