Author: Gary Sobers

Format: Paperback

Number of Pages: 224

This autobiography of one of the greatest names in cricket, the eighth cricketer to be knighted, tells of his failings - drinking, nightclubbing and his marriage - as well as his shining success. He also debunks some myths about other cricketing individuals. Sir Gary gives his frank views on how cricket has changed since his day. He believes that Keith Miller was a better all-rounder than Ian Botham and does not subscribe to the view that Mike Brearley was a great captain. The best captains, he believes, were Frank Worrell, Brian Close and Ian Chapell. Sir Garfield Sobers was born in Barbados in 1936. He captained the West Indies between 1965 and 1973 and was knighted by the Queen in 1975. At the time of writing, he remains the only batsman to score six consecutive sixes in a single over in a first-class match. He now lives in the West Indies and works for the Barbados Tourist Board.
