I haven't yet read this book. I have acquired it but it is in a pile of novels I am slowly working thru.
I have made several purchases of multiple books and am always delighted with the quality and condition of the books. Also delighted to find that one edition is signed. I may have to move to a larger house to accomodate my anticipated future orders.
This book has about fifteen animals to knit. The patterns are well written and the animals range from badgers to bears. It is a lovely book and perfect for making animal gifts.
Jon Ronson is an excellent writer & this book is a funny and thought-provoking read. I know the subject impacted me when I've brought up several times in conversation with various people. I only wish I had bought the softcover as it would be easier to hold. I appreciate Book Grocer prices and friendly, prompt service.
I loved Points of Danger, this is the fourth Edward Marston book I've read, this being the first one I've read from The Railway Series. The other 3 from the Doomsday Series of which I also loved. Marston is an brilliant story teller. I can only thank The Book Grocer for stocking his books and introducing Marston to me, as I never seen his books in the retails stores. I love The Book Grocer, they provide the best service, being as serious bookworm, I can now afford to be well read, always have a new book to read and discover new authors.
The books are a treat but do you really have to pack it all polystyrene beads.
A remarkable book to read, I felt I was right next to the author when he was at the difference camps.
Highly commendable to this author.
Great read
A handsome and well presented tome. The book does exactly what the title suggests: portraying the behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the movie. As such, it adds only tangentially to Potterlore but shines a light on what it takes to make a big budget fantasy movie. The ability to pick up in store was greatly appreciated, allowing what would otherwise go towards postage to be spent on more books! Thanks!
Loved the Wolf Hall trilogy. Once you start the first book you are addicted. Easy read and written with an edge. Can't stop. Sorry housework.
Cant put the book down. A great eye witness account of the horrors of the holocaust.
Prompt delivery ! Shall order from the Book Grocer again !
Book was a bit long winded at the start. I ended up skipping some chapters until I got to where she met Harry.
My experience with ordering from Book Grocer, was very positive. Both my books ordered arrived in no time. Thanks
Excellent biography of the life and groovy times of Jann Wenner, founder, and editor of Rolling Stone magazine.
Being English born and approaching my 8th. decade, the BBC, affectionately known as 'Auntie' was an integral part of my first four decades. This well written book relates the history of the BBC from inception to the multitude of ways information is transmitted and received today. So, if you're of a certain vintage with affectionate memories of BBC radio in the fifties, sixties and onwards, this book is definitely for you. The narrative of course includes the story of BBC TV from the ground breaking transmission of the coronation in 1953 to the wonders of the natural world as presented by David Attenborough. An excellent journey through the history of the evolution of broadcasting, well researched and well written. Strongly recommended.
