Pharaoh's Fool: The story of Giovanni Belzoni by Maurice Willson Disher, published by Heinemann in 1957, is a biography of Giovanni Belzoni. He was educated to be a priest, until he came to England where he earned a living as a strong man at fairs and played in pantomimes at Sadlers wells. After travelling to Egypt he proved ideally suited, with his strength and knowledge of engineering, to organising transportation of seemingly immovable colossi and obelisks.
