This is the second volume of a two-volume biography of William Forster (1784-1854), a British Quaker minister and philanthropist, written by his son-in-law Benjamin Seebohm and published by Alfred W. Bennett in 1865. The second volume covers ForsterÕs later years from 1823 to his death in 1854, during which he travelled extensively in Europe, America, Africa, and Asia as a religious emissary and a promoter of peace and education. The volume also describes his involvement in various social causes, such as anti-slavery, prison reform, temperance, and Irish famine relief. The volume has 400 pages and includes an appendix with letters and documents. Additional remarks: Inscription on pastedownand endpaper. Top edge stained. Crown and tail chipped. Mild bumping to corners and spine. Mild discolouration to purple board. Loose binding. Foxing to edges. Sun-faded spine. Nevertheless, remains a good copy for age.
