These Were my Tribesmen is a book by Alan Marshall, an Australian writer and disability activist. The book is a sequel to his autobiography I Can Jump Puddles, which tells the story of his childhood and adolescence with polio. The book covers his adult life from 1928 to 1938, when he travelled around Australia and met various people from different backgrounds and cultures, such as Aboriginals, Chinese, Italians, Greeks, and others. The book was published by Lansdowne, an Australian publisher, in 1965 as the third edition of the original book published in 1957. It has 214 pages and is a humorous and insightful account of MarshallÕs adventures.
