The Origin Of Species is a book by Charles Darwin, published by Avenel Book in 1979. It is a reprint edition of DarwinÕs landmark work on evolution by natural selection, first published in 1859. The book presents DarwinÕs evidence and arguments for his theory of how species change over time through adaptation to their environment. The book also discusses the implications of his theory for human origins, morality and religion. The book has 459 pages and includes a new foreword by Patricia Horan. Red hardcover with gilt lettering on the spine. First Edition. This is a facsimile of the first edition; however , the Historical Sketch was added later by Darwin, as was the glossary, which has been reproduced directly from the sixth edition.
