Swords for Sea Service is a comprehensive study of naval swords, dirks and cutlasses, based on the collection of the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich. It was written by Commander W. E. May and P. G. W. Annis, and published by Her MajestyÕs Stationery Office in 1970. It contains illustrations, photographs, biographical notes and historical information on British and foreign naval weapons. The first volume has 257 pages and the second volume has 250 pages. Each volume contains a coloured frontispiece. Additional notes: 140 black and white plates. Coloured plate as frontispiece. Pages in both volumes are in very good, clean condition. Illustrated endpapers. Grey cloth with purple titles on the spines. Corners show only very light wear. No dust jackets. The books are well preserved in a cardboard slipcase.
