Kenilworth is a historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, first published in 1821. It tells the story of the secret marriage between Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, and Amy Robsart, daughter of a wealthy squire, and the tragic consequences of their forbidden love. The novel is set in the Elizabethan era, and features a fictionalized account of the events surrounding the visit of Queen Elizabeth I to Kenilworth Castle in 1575. The novel is illustrated by Clarke Hutton, and has an introduction by David Daiches. It was published by The Heritage Press in 1966, and has 542 pages.
