A Timely Reminder

Let Me Be Myself is the name of a travelling exhibition organised by Anne Frank House and it has been travelling Australia for the last 12 years.
It came to my town and I was asked to be a voluntary guide for the exhibition, so I wanted to reread Anne's diary.
What I found was a timely reminder of what is happening overseas in Israel, Palestine and the Ukraine as seen through the eyes of a 15 year old girl. Her observations, comments and thoughts are truly relevant today, approximately 80 years after she died. While recognising that this book was translated from Anne's original diary which was written in Dutch, her writing is extremely mature and beautifully composed and her desire to become a full time writer shows through with her attention to detail.
One of those books that everyone can read and learn something.
