Anne Scott-James has had a remarkable life, not least in being one of the first women journalists in Fleet Street, joining "Vogue" in the mid-1930s. She worked later on "Picture Post", was editor of "Harper's Bazaar" and had columns in "The Sunday Express" and "The Daily Mail" which were highly rated. Her work involved her with many of literary stars of the period - Cecil Beaton, John Betjeman, Elizabeth David and Rosamond Lehmann amongst them. She was married to Macdonald Hastings (their son is Max Hastings), and then to Osbert Lancaster. This autobiography is published to coincide with the author's 80th birthday.
