She also writes for The New York Times, Granta, Al-Jazeera, The Huffington Post and the BBC. She has worked extensively on free speech, censorship and feminist issues in India. The Girl Who Ate Books: Adventures in Reading, a collection of Nilanjana's essays, will be published by 4thEstate. She lives in Delhi with her husband where they are jointly owned by two cats.
