From homely armchairs and pouffes to eye-catching footstools and vintage-print seat pads, these are the personal touches that turn a house into a home. Split into four sections: Dining, Living, Occasional and Outdoors, the projects feature a range of techniques that are all fully explained in a beginner-friendly style. Sewing, crochet, embroidery and painting are all covered with clear step-by-step instructions. Projects will include: Sashiko director's chair, Drop-in chair seat, Spindle-back chairs, Box cushions, Coffee-table footstool, Wine-crate footstool, Giant crochet pouffe and Wallpapered stools. AUTHOR: Jemima Schlee is a prolific designer and maker. Her artistic, creative and crafting career began with a short spell at Edinburgh University (Italian and Art History), which was followed by a BA at Bath (Visual Communication). Jemima later trained as a teacher and moved to Brighton on the south coast of England, where she now teaches profoundly deaf teenagers. In addition to writing the 'Take A ' series, Jemima has contributed to lifestyle and craft magazines including Country Homes and Interiors and Period Living.
