Alison Case (Foreword)is the author of Nelly Dean, a novel about the secret life of the housekeeper at Wuthering Heights (Borough Press). She is a Professor of Victorian Literature and chair of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Williams College in Williamstown, MA, where she also lives. She has published two books and numerous articles about Victorian literature and the history of the novel. She is currently working on a novel based on Sanditon.
