The V&A is home to 5,000 years of human ingenuity in art, design and performance. Among its treasures are notebooks, working sketches and pattern books from artists and designers of all kinds, from Leonardo da Vinci to William Morris, and Eileen Gray to Beatrix Potter. Featuring separate sections of high-quality ruled, coloured plain, graph and bullet-grid paper, our new notebooks invite today's creatives to plan, think, note and sketch - or just write a few lists. And by purchasing a V&A Design Notebook, you are giving back to the museum, helping to keep our collection free and open to all, inspiring the artists and designers of the future. Features: Ruled, graph and bullet-grid sections Coloured plain pages Pattern-printed endpapers Lay-flat binding Ribbon marker Elastic closure The distinctive endpapers have been adapted from Kaleidoscope, ornements abstraits (Paris 1926), a magnificent portfolio of Art Deco designs in the National Art Library at the V&A. French artists Ad. and M.P. Verneuil used the form of the nineteenth-century pattern book to create 87 different pattern templates for textile designers to transfer to fabric.
