The first complete monograph on the Austrian artist.

Since her diploma at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, in 2005, Sofia Goscinski's diverse practice has encompassed sculpture, photography, video, performance, drawing and painting. Her work borrows from the aesthetics of Minimalism, to be provokingly juxtaposed with expressive elements. There is an intuitive and consistent manner to Goscinski's work in creating new dialogues and contact with surfaces of material. The formal and conceptual rigor at the root of Sofia Goscinski's approach is tempered by unrestricted freedom, producing works that can be interpreted and experienced on very different levels. Incredibly wide-ranging, her work remains dedicated to challenging the viewer's self-awareness by means of physically altering their perceptions. The socio-political content is evident and central to her oeuvre.

Jasper Sharp is a British curator and art historian. He began his career at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, before moving to Austria in 2006. He is the Adjunct Curator for Modern and Contemporary Art at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.

Hubert Klocker is an Austrian art, theater and film scholar and curator with a research focus on Viennese actionism, performance theory and performative tendencies in contemporary art. He is the author of several fundamental publications on Viennese Actionism and since 1991 he has directed the Friedrichshof Collection at Friedrichshof in Zurndorf and Vienna.

Denise Wendel-Poray, Canadian writer, critic and former opera singer, is the author of several books and essays concerning the relationship between art, theatre, and music. She recently published Painting the Stage (Skira,2019)
