This is a set of three books by RŸdiger Joppien and Bernard Smith that contains all the known drawings and paintings done for Captain James CookÕs three voyages of exploration to the Pacific between 1768 and 1780. The books also include a fascinating narrative and explanatory text that explores how the artworks reflect and respond to the cultures and landscapes encountered by Cook and his crew. The books were published by Melbourne Oxford University Press. Volume one and two were reprinted 1985 and have 247 pages and 274 pages. Both volume three books were first published 1987 and have 233 pages and 699 pages. Additional remarks: Long tear to the DJ of the first volume.
