Transforming the simple and the mundane into the magical, Ranjani Shettar's sculptures and installations are based on Indian craft and toy making traditions. Based in Bangalore, India, Shettar's practice is characterised by bold experimentation with a range of materials such as beeswax, spices, sawdust, wood, latex, plastic tubing, tamarind paste, silicone rubber, and the shredded 'skins' of automobiles. Shettar has exhibited her works at SFMOMA, Talwar Gallery, New York and Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, Texas.
