This is a celebration of the architecture of Frank O. Gehry's Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. It details the design process that is an intrinsic part of Gehry's revolutionary approach: his use of non-traditional materials and his sensitivity to the environments of his buildings, his method of envisaging a building through semi-automatic drawings and hand-made models. The book documents the history of Museum from conception, and through design and construction. The author, an art historian and artist who has collaborated with Gehry on various architectural and art projects, had access to the architect and his studio. The text is accompanied by colour photographs of the building and reproductions of Gehry's drawings and models.
