Ten Little Elves

Christmas magic meets a merry countdown in this irresistible festive picture book, where ten little elves set off on a thrilling adventure to save the holiday season. Written by Mike Brownlow and brought to vivid life by Simon Rickerty's bold, cheerful illustrations, the story follows a group of colourful elves as, one by one, they disappear into a series of wintery escapades — leaving young readers gleefully counting down with every turn of the page. Rooted in the beloved tradition of counting rhymes, the narrative is bouncy, rhythmic, and packed with the kind of read-aloud energy that makes storytime a joyful occasion. Part of Brownlow and Rickerty's celebrated Ten Little series — which includes Ten Little Pirates and Ten Little Robots — this title showcases the duo's masterful blend of simple, satisfying structure with vibrant visual humour that appeals equally to toddlers and the grown-ups reading alongside them. The counting format gently reinforces early numeracy skills while wrapping them in the warmth of a Christmas celebration, making it as educational as it is entertaining. With its cast of diverse, expressive elves and a finale sure to delight, this is a seasonal classic that will be pulled from the shelf year after year.
