Cleo Watson has spent her life in politics. Latterly, working with Boris Johnson and Dominic Cummings. Her first novel, Whips, is a gripping political novel following the stories of three young women who arrive in Westminster from very different backgrounds and who have a very front-row seat as they watch a Prime Minister lose an incredibly important European vote and the commencement of a leadership contest. A rollercoaster romp through British politics in the run up to Brexit, written by someone very close to the action at the time.

Cleo Watson is the author of Whips (Corsair) and the presenter of the Radio 4 series, How to Win a Campaign. She worked in politics and campaigning for over a decade, including President Barack Obama's re-election in 2012, the 2017 and 2019 UK general elections and the Vote Leave campaign in the 2016 EU referendum. In government, she served in 10 Downing Street as Theresa May's political adviser then Boris Johnson's co-deputy chief of staff. She tweets @cleowatson88.
