Radical Rest: Notes on Burnout, Healing and Hopeful Futures
Radical Rest will argue that the national burnout we have all experienced in some form over the last few years is a symptom of a desperately unhealthy society. The solution lies not only with the individual, because we cannot simply 'fix ourselves' under oppression, but in a radical reimagining of the capitalist status quo. Through a Black Feminist, abolitionist and transformative justice lens, Radical Rest follows Evie on her own journey of burnout recovery as she explores embodied, nature-allied alternatives to the way we organise, work, and exist. Centring on the lived experiences of those disproportionately impacted by, and working in resistance to, burnout - Black, queer, disabled activists of colour - Radical Rest poses imaginative alternatives for a hopeful and healed future.
