The Rubell Collection is a collection of international contemporary art, predominantly by American artists, founded by Don and Mera Rubell in 1964. The collection is continually growing and includes works by world famous artists such as John Baldessari, Urs Fischer, Luc Tymans, Julian Schnabel, Takashi Murakami, Zhang Huan, Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Kara Walter and Andy Warhol amongst others. This publication accompanies the exhibition of one of the largest private contemporary art collections in the world, which will be held in February 2012 at Fundacion Banco de Santander in Madrid.
