Mind mapping is a new note-taking technique which uses fewer words than the traditional linear method. It therefore frees the writer from the tyranny of long lists and gives more time for listening and taking part in discussions. Originated by Tony Buzan in 1974, mind mapping has been developed around the world. In the United States it is known as clustering. It is efficient, fast, simple and improves the memory. Apart from note taking, it can be used for planning, problem solving, summarizing and brainstorming. Examples of mind mapping used for minute taking, budgeting, medical history and holiday planning are included. This book encapsulates the author's business seminars which teach the technique and gives the reader the benefit of tested ideas which first surfaced on those occasions. Exercises are included so the reader can monitor progress on both mind mapping and memory training.
